An App for English-speaking visitors who wish to discover and experience the region Franconia in the heart of Germany along the river Main in Germany - no matter how, whether by bike, boat during a river cruise, two wheels, four wheels or even on foot.

Our vision of „Along The River Main“ is uncomplicated, yet full of enthusiasm:

Sharing our love of this beautiful part of Germany, offering historical and cultural informations, insider tips and interesting locations off the beaten track. Keeping the design minimal, yet elegant with an intuitive interface.

— Easy navigation to the towns along the Main using an interactive map. Informative and entertaining input about the bigger and smaller towns including some culinary insider recommendations.

— A video clip puts the river in motion…

— The “Places of Interest”-section, integrated with iOS maps displaying the sights described for a great overview!

— “Text & Audio”-section with essays about Drinking and Eating Along the River, Emigration from Franconia to the New World, Jewish Culture and History, The US-Army in Franconia – Past and Present, Famous Franconians from Alois Alzheimer to Levi Strauss. All the texts are also available in a  audio version.

— Four big „Photo Galleries“ will provide you a with close insight to the poetic landscape as well as the towns along the lovely, meandering Main. We focused not only on the famous sights but even more excitingly on the discovery of many hidden treasures. Promise!
